Ooooh, today is Halloween or All Hallow’s Eve, the day before All Souls Day. This is the time of year when the veil between the land of the living and the land of the dead is at its thinnest.
It’s also called Samhain in the Gaelic calendar, a celebration of the harvest.
Whatever name you prefer, this is the time of year when ghosts and ghouls and the infamous things that go bump-in-the-night take center stage.
So of course, you’re going to meet Carding, Vermont’s favorite ghost in tomorrow’s Carding Chronicle. This story was inspired by a tale about a spectral presence that supposedly inhabits the Norwich Inn in Norwich, Vermont.
By the way, the Norwich Inn has a lovely brew pub and their red ale is exquisite.
