Heart of Vermont

Heart of Vermont Quilt Guild-for web
I was in Barre, Vermont last night in the charming Milne Room of the Aldrich Public Library visiting with the Heart of Vermont Quilt Guild.

They asked me to come speak about “Stitching Together a Writer’s Life.” So I did.

I talked about editing American Patchwork and sewing everything for the 650 photos in Teach Yourself Visually Quilting. (Whew, I get tired all over again just thinking about that.)

Then I segued into the nonprofit that’s dearest to my heart, the Parkinson’s Comfort Project.

The stitching together part of all of this comes in The Road Unsalted.

It’s the place where I finally figured out how to combine my love of Vermont, my passion for writing, my quilting joy, and the efforts to bring comfort to folks with Parkinson’s disease through the Comfort Project.

It occurred to me that I always feel so comfortable whenever I visit a guild. Even if I don’t know anyone in the room, I feel as if I know everyone.

It was a great group and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. (And those mint chocolate bars were to die for.)

Thank you so much!!
