More Wonderful Hats for the Haven

Good morning good folks–

I thought I would share a quick update on the ongoing Warm Hats for the Haven project that I’m coordinating with rePlay Arts in White River Junction.

Some pretty wonderful, kind people have had their knitting needles and sewing machines out over the holidays because some colorful donations have made their way to rePlay, the collection point for the hats.

All hats are donated directly to the Upper Valley Haven so they can get into the hands and onto the heads of folks who find themselves in precarious and vulnerable housing situations.

Want to donate? If you live in our area (the Upper Valley), you will find lots of colorful yarn to make your creations or you are welcome to whittle down your own stash.

If you’re knitting or crocheting, please make sure that the yarn you use is washable. We’ve also had a lovely donation of red fleece hats and muffs so if you create with fabric, let these inspire you.

We’re carrying this through the entire winter because, you know, cold. So feel free to let your creative juices flow.

Here are some pictures of our latest donations.
