Facts Are Stubborn Things

James Randi was the North Star of skeptics. Born in Toronto in 1928, he performed as a magician on stages around the world.

But Randi is perhaps best known for his self-chosen role as a skeptical investigator into paranormal, psychic, and pseudoscientific claims. He often explained that the reason for his ferocious antagonism to claims of phenomena such as spoon-bending and faith-healing was his sympathy for the victims of these frauds.

Randi died at the age of 92 in 2020. I believe we should all continue his legacy, individually and together.

Just think, we could make truth important again.

Wouldn’t that be a refreshing change?
